YPP provided counseling support at the peak of the 73rd TNI Anniversary at the Jesus Christ Statue Field at Mopah Airport, Merauke Regency, Papua. The counseling event hosted by Kak Resha consisted of 4 sessions with the theme of stunting (short toddlers) delivered by Kpt Kes dr. Yuli, SpA from RSAU Iswahyudi Madiun, the Dangers of Early Marriage delivered by Mrs. Titik Kartiningsih, the Dangers of Drugs delivered by AKP Subur from the Merauke Police Drug Detection Unit and Prevention of cervical cancer by dr. Toto Imam, SpOG from RSPAD Gatot Subroto.
In the counseling "The Dangers of Early Marriage" it was conveyed that Indonesia ranks 37th in the world for young marriages even though early marriage has risks including high-risk pregnancies, not being ready to carry out the role of husband and wife, not being able to take care of children, difficulty achieving higher education and insufficient family economy. If marriage is carried out if the woman is at least 20 years old and the man is at least 25 years old, it is hoped that they are mature enough to think and take responsibility, as well as the possibility of getting higher education, so that they can realize a happy and prosperous family. Meanwhile, the counseling on the dangers of drugs conveyed the many adverse effects of drug abuse, such as low body immunity, suicidal tendencies, over-dose, mental disorders and others. SMA 1 Merauke students seemed very enthusiastic about participating in this counseling, plus those who were active during the counseling were provided door prizes by the Committee.
This social service activity was opened by the Chief of Army Staff who also gave a certificate of appreciation to YPP for the cooperation that has long been well established.
It is hoped that this counseling activity can make an impression and be well embedded in children and residents of Merauke, so that they can live a better life and improve their degree of life.
