Healthy Lifestyle & Positive Interactions Counseling at SDN 01 Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta

A few months after the students of SDN 01 Tanjung Barat were educated on "Media Literacy & Anti-Bullying", it was "Healthy Lifestyle & Positive Behavior" that YPAPK educated. Held on 8, 9, 10 August for students in grades 6, 5 & 4, students were taught what is good and not good for them, from food choices, how to stay healthy, how to choose friends, socializing, and being grateful for God's grace.

The topics covered include:

Healthy Lifestyle: 
Healthy & Unhealthy Consumption, Maintaining Cleanliness, Danger of Drugs, Grateful for God's Gifts

Positive Behavior: 
Choosing Friends, How to Socialize, Respecting Yourself & Others, Avoiding LGBT.

YPAPK partnered with children's storyteller Kak Resha for the counseling. The materials presented were also customized by Kak Resha for each class, so that the children can digest and absorb them more easily, so that the knowledge can be deeply embedded and always remembered. During the counseling, children are also taught to deliberate, dare to express their opinions and explore their abilities. For example, together they set their own rules during the counseling time and the consequences, so that they feel responsible. For students who did not participate in the counseling, they had fun reading books brought by the Mobile Education Vehicle (WELI) in the school yard.
