Bordering countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and Malaysia does not guarantee that Natuna Regency will become a developed place in various fields including education. The remote location surrounded by water is in need of much development.
These conditions result in children with great potential and dreams to advance being hampered by the lack of educational facilities and reading sources as references in the area.
To realize the dreams of these children, the Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) together with the Army Kodim 0318 / Natuna inaugurated a Reading House in Sedarat Baru Village, Bunguran Batubi District, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province on September 25, 2018 which was implemented through the Indosiar Untuk Mimpi Indonesia (IUMI) program and the Army Manunggal Masuk Desa (TMMD).
The IUMI program was held in order to celebrate Indosiar's 23rd Anniversary by realizing the dreams of our brothers and sisters in 23 points of Indonesia's outer islands, while the TMMD program was carried out by the TNI in order to maintain unity and solidarity between the army and the people. Both programs aim to improve the standard of living of the people in the outermost and foremost remote islands, and maintain the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
The residents and children of Sedarat Baru Village welcomed the Reading House by singing the Indonesia Raya song and performing an offering dance at the inauguration led by Dandim 0318/Natuna, Lt. Col. Yusuf Rizal. It is hoped that the Reading House can further develop and broaden the horizons of children and residents of Sedarat Baru Village.
Our concern is their hope.
