YPP in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa held a Mass Cataract Operation on January 18-19, 2020 at Dompet Dhuafa's Lancang Kuning Hospital, Pekanbaru, Riau. A total of 50 cataract patients from more than 140 poor people who were screened successfully underwent cataract surgery.
These people came from around and outside Pekanbaru.
They felt greatly helped because many residents are still productive age but must be guided by their children or relatives because they have cataracts in both eyes, some are even threatened with being fired from work. As for surgeries through BPJS, people have difficulty arranging them or have to queue long enough to get a surgery schedule.
At Dompet Dhuafa's Lancang Kuning Hospital, patients who have completed surgery are given google (glasses) to protect their eyes from dust and infection, while patients with minus or other eye abnormalities are given bandages.
A medical consultation room is also provided by RS Lancang Kuning for patients who do not pass the screening, so that residents get clear direction to overcome their medical problems.
