
Medical assistance is urgently needed by residents and children affected by the Lombok Earthquake, because many residents in the evacuation camps are starting to decline in health, especially children and the elderly. While trauma healing is very important for children considering their psychology is still very vulnerable. On August 13, 2018 the YPP Team, supported by TNI, BNI and the YKAO medical team, carried out free medical treatment, trauma healing and distribution of basic necessities, blankets, mats and tarpaulin tents in three locations, namely: Bangket Hamlet, Gowa Hamlet and Tanjung Post.
Mrs. Nanik Istumawati, wife of TNI Commander Tjahjanto and Chairman of Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation Mr. Imam Sudjarwo came to visit the refugees at Tanjung Post.
For trauma healing activities, Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih assisted by the TNI also brought along the Mobile Education Vehicle (WELI) containing quality reading books that can entertain and add insight to children in refugee camps.
A total of 119 residents of bangket Hamlet and 150 children participated in trauma healing, 50 residents of Gowa Hamlet received free medical treatment, and 150 children participated in trauma healing activities at Tanjung Post.
