Regular Mass Cataract Surgery at RSCM Kirana Hospital for Underprivileged Residents

60 underprivileged cataract patients from around Jabodetabek successfully underwent cataract surgery which is routinely held every 2-3 months in collaboration with YPP, RSCM Kirana, PERDAMI JAYA and YKAO (Yayasan Karya Alfa Omega).

Hundreds of prospective patients underwent screening at YKAO three weeks before the day of the operation and 80 patients were declared fit for surgery, but on the day of the operation, October 27, 2018, only 60 patients were operated on and 20 others were declared unfit due to medical reasons, namely high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high eyeball pressure and prostate disorders.

The surgery, which took place at Level 3 RSCM Kirana, was carried out by ophthalmologists and continued with a post-operative examination at 7:00 am the next day.

It is hoped that patients who have been successfully operated on can return to live their lives with more independence and dignity.
