To prevent greater impact from the tsunami, with SCTV-Indosiar viewers' funds, YPP planted 35,000 mangroves on the coast of Pandegelang Regency which was recently affected by the Sunda Strait tsunami. YPP distributed emergency aid and planted tens of thousands of mangrove trees in several locations in Sumur District, Pandeglang Regency, Prov. Banten. Some time ago, YPP supervised the first phase of planting as many as 10,000 trees planted in Tanjung Lame: 2000 mangroves, 4,500 mangroves in Cilintang, 3,500 mangroves in Prepet, in collaboration with KOMPILASI (Community of Environment Care Community). The monitoring was carried out on July 17-19, 2019 to record the development of the mangrove trees that have been planted. It is hoped that the mangroves can help reduce the impact of the tsunami in the Sunda Strait. The dry season, tidal conditions and wild animals affect the survival of these plants.
Thank you for the trust and donations made by Indosiar-SCTV viewers through Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP).
