YPP - YKAO - TNI Work Together to Help Residents Affected by the Lombok Earthquake

The 7-magnitude earthquake left grief for the people of Lombok. Conveying the concern and donations of SCTV-Indosiar Viewers and Companies, Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) Team in collaboration with the TNI and Yayasan Karya Alfa Omega (YKAO) held health services, providing basic necessities and trauma healing for residents and children affected by the disaster in Lombok.

With the support of the TNI transporting medical equipment, medicines, WELI cars from Jakarta, YPP in collaboration with 5 medical teams from Yayasan Karya Alpha Omega, storyteller and TV presenter Kak Resha on August 8 departed from Jakarta. The team worked with local volunteers and colleagues at the Mataram Transmission station to conduct a survey to find out the conditions and situation on the ground. Then decided to provide health services and trauma helaing in Karang Krakas Hamlet and Papak Hamlet, Ganggelang Village, North Lombok.

Trauma Healing for Children
In addition to providing health services for residents, YPP also invited Kak Resha @kakresha, a storyteller and child and youth protection activist to provide trauma healing for Lombok children affected by the earthquake. The disaster that hit, of course, leaves trauma that can interfere with the psychological growth of a child. Playing together, listening to inspirational and motivational stories is expected to help these children recover from times of grief and sadness.

During the activities, the YPP Team, YKAO and Kak Resha also experienced shocks that continued to occur. Nevertheless, this activity continued, so that the children in both Karang Krakas Hamlet and Papak Hamlet were very happy and enthusiastic from the beginning of the activity. They sang, played quizzes, until the fairy tale program themed "Maintaining Health" and "Friendship" ended. In conducting this trauma healing, Resha was also assisted by the local Babinsa, Mr. Mandala. Our care is their hope.

In its journey, the YPP Team, YKAO, Kak Resha carried out this humanitarian activity not only in one point of the area, but moved to several locations.
