Free Cataract Surgery in Ruteng, East Nusa Tenggara

On April 24-25, 2025, Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) SCTV Indosiar together with Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A&A Rachmat, Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association (PERDAMI) held a Cataract Surgery Social Service at St. Rafael Cancar Hospital, Ruteng, Manggarai Regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.

The activity was supported by 17 medical personnel from PERDAMI. The cataract patients came from several districts, namely Manggarai, West Manggarai, East Manggarai, Ngada, Nagekeo and Ende. From this social service activity, 138 cataract patients were successfully treated.

The Cataract Operation Social Service in Ruteng, Manggarai Regency was attended by Mrs. Josephine Rahardjo, Deputy Chief of Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A&A Rachmat; Dr. Dra. Suratna, M.Psi, Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and Mr. Abas Yahya, Chief Executive of YPP.
